LOVE JONES

 Love Jones is one sexy movie!


LOVE JONES Love Jones is one sexy movie.
 The story is about young, urban,
artistically-bent, black professionals in Chicago searching for love, sex, and romance.
The characters hang out, bullshit, listen to some great music, and shoot pool, etc.
 The
lead couple, Nina (Nia Long) and Darius (Larenz Tate) meet up at a poetry club/bar
hangout that is hipper and cooler than it may sound. Darius is a gorgeous young writer
who seems way too smooth to be sincere and Nina is a beautiful aspiring photographer.

The movie details the ups and downs of their relationship. Darius first seduces Nina with
this amazingly erotic poem. Frankly, a woman could have an orgasm just listening to
him. Damn, he is good - it will be a long time before I forget the line "I'm the blues in
your left thigh trying to become the funk in your right." Love Jones also avoids a familiar
pitfall where all men are portrayed as dogs and women as angels.
 Yes, Darius cheats
on Nina (was there any doubt) but she does the same. They both play head games and
screw up the relationship. Love Jones is also good at showing the different ways men
and women view sex, love, trust, and commitment.
 Love Jones has an erotic moodiness
that is impossible to resist. Nia Long and Lorenz Tate share a sizzling on-screen
chemistry and the dialogue is smart, slick, and snappy. The soundtrack also deserves a
mention since it intensifies the picture's atmosphere - making for a heady moviegoing
experience. This is a great date movie (It gets you hot!), so don't miss it.
