Welcome to the home page of Luka Brazzi. In my opinion this is the worst home page on the Web. I don't know how you managed to come across this page but seeing as how it is so short and sparse of information I hope you will invest the 30 seconds of time it will take to peruse the whole shooting match.

Upcoming shows, (or show...we're kind of lazy)!
August 26th at the Metro Cafe. I have no idea who we're playing with. All I know is that we're playing early. 14th St. isn't as fun as it was back in the good old days but please come out anyway. I'll try to get Chris to dress up like a hooker for nostalgia's sakes.

So what's new?
James sustained a serious injury the other night. A big bucket of boiling hot grease spilled all over his leg. He said it hurt like the pain that would require a thousand explictives. He's recuperating slowly on his couch, whacked out of his face on Vicodin, watching countless hours of 90210 re-runs. Better living through prescription medication....that's the Luka Brazzi way. Adam finished up a couple of new songs that we will play on the 26th. I like them and I think you would as well. (Isn't it odd how when typing nonsense like this, one addresses a mass audience like they're having a one-on-one conversation? really, how the hell would I know if you, whoever you are, would like our new songs at all? You might even be a Boxcar Willie fan. If that's the case, for both of our sakes, you should probably just stay home. Anyway, back to the self-promotional trouser pull). Other than that we had some people post some nice, "Luka Brazzi sucks", messages on the InDC message board. Thanks for the support Mom and Dad! From whence we came
In March of 1997 Adam Johnson, Steve Bowes, James Main and Jay Balco were all drunk. At the time it seemed like a great idea to form a band. Fueled by a love of music and a salacious thirst for crappy beer they started writing songs in earnest. (It was sort of like, "Ernest joins a band"). Eventually the combo came to be called, "Luka Brazzi", after having such hideous monikers as, "Coogan's Droop, (a medical condition where one's testicles hang abnormally low), "Buford's Crawdad Revival", and the much-maligned, "Crack Whore". They got bored talking amongst themselves all the time so they started playing shows around the D.C. area and loads of fun was had. Jay played violin and sang, Adam played guitar and sang, Steve played bass and James played drums....things were pretty sweet. Unfortunately life intervened and it became time for Jay to leave the band so the question left to the remaining three was, "how do you replace a violin playing lead singer?." Enter Chris Pethrick....longtime guitarist in Adam's old band, " Broken Pah". Aside from looking like Satan and having a bunch of cool t-shirts Chris was a good friend and great musician. Plus he could breathe fire like Gene Simmons so the decision was pretty easy. The new band started playing out and fire codes were broken all around the beltway. Adam, James, Steve and Chris are who comprise Luka as of today. Like sands through the hourglass....so are the days of our Luka.
