The Circle's Edge is a non-profit social organization promoting social differences, cultural diversity, and understanding. It's for anyone who feels left out. It is open to all ages; from grade, high, and college age students, to adults. Outside of discussion groups, which usually meets the 4th Saturday monthly, (usually at MLK Library on 9th and Gst N.W. by MetroCenter (red/orange/blue line) and Gallery Place/ChinaTown Metro (yellow/green/red line), and also has free underground parking and metered parking on the streets) we intend to host seminars, and have speakers, on a vast array of topics, of interest and need. We have socials and exciting trips.

We are also in the making of a theatrical variety show on culture, custom, ability, and disabilities; to educate and be performed at schools, universities, festivals, museums, clubs, and television. We intend to perform in the Washington, D.C. area, at first, then perform regionally, and soon nationally, and internationally.
ATTENTION SERIOUS, COMMITTED, AND DEDICATED YOUTH, ADULT, AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER AFRICAN, CARRIBBEAN, INTERNATIONAL, JAZZ, BALLET, AND MODERN DANCERS, ACROBATS, CONTORTIONISIS, JUGGLERS, DJ's MAGICIANS, CIRCUS AND NOVELITY ACTS, AND ALL OTHER PERFORMERS, AS WELL AS, PEOPLE INTERSTED IN LEARNING OR HAVE KNOWLEDGE IN LIGHTS, SOUND, PROPS, STAGE, SET, EFFECTS, ETC.! WE WOULD LIKE TO OFFER A "THEATER ARTS SEMINAR"
The seminar offers hands-on knowledge in set, props, and music production; theater administration including promotions, phone calls and collecting props/lights/etc, public relations, booking, etc.; and rehearsal and performing. The result is a show that was produced, rehearsed, and performed by the members, volunteers, and staff. It leads to pride, ownership, and a better respect for theater, performing, and teamwork. Unlike when you audition and audition, and FINALLY get a tiny roll in a show. You feel no one would ever see you, you're unimportant and not needed for the show, and if you leave, the show will still go on successfully. Here you feel important because you are important and very much needed!! You are the one who help produce the show. If you don't make your phone calls, make the prop, or perform in the show, it won't go on successfully! It is also very good for people who love to perform and dance but hate auditions, or are always horrible in them and never get a part, or are "too fat", or "not right for the part". This workshop, like the organization, offers those artists a voice to be heard and a stage to finally be seen!!
We are ONLY looking for SERIOUS, DEDICATED, and COMMITTED VOLUNTEER PERFORMERS and ONLY a few SERIOUS, DEDICATED, COMMITTED PEOPLE TO HELP IN ADMINISTRATION and PRODUCION, as well as a place to hold rehearsals!! IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE AND WILLING TO COMMIT TO THE REHEARSALS, MEETINGS, AND SHOWS, AND ARE NOT ABLE TO FINISH WHAT YOU START OR SAY YOU WILL DO, PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER TO CALL OR COME! DO YOU OR YOUR COMPANY NEED A TAX BREAK? WE NEED DONATIONS!! Fax machine, rehearsal space in the D.C. area, computer, investor$, and volunteers to help in transportation and driving, booking, flyer distribution, fund raising, grant writing, phone calls and collecting lights/equipment/etc. that companies loan/donate to us, writers, event planers, performers, and much more. We have receipts for tax purposes for in-kind gifts of time, and or course reciepts for all donations. People needing volunteer hours for court, school, or any other reason, can satisfy their hours here too. High school students can also fulfill their volunteer hours required for graduation while getting experience. Volunteers will learn all aspects of media, press release, production, performing, grant writing, event planning, and many other aspects of theater.
