I have interests in the following subjects, and am interested in sharing experiences and research: Catholic Education and Block Scheduling (also known as Intensive Scheduling, 4x4 Scheduling, etc.). Catholic Education
Are we holding our own educationally? Have we demonstrated that we are better through our curricula, or are we simply thriving in inner-city arenas where people are frightened of the public schools? I certainly don't claim to have all the answers, but I'm interested in hearing what other people think, both in and out of the Catholic School world.

Block Scheduling
The Catholic high school in which I have been the Assistant Headmaster, Venango Christian High School, has completed two years of block scheduling. In general, it's been great. Problems? Sure, but by and large very solvable. Talk to me to find out what works and what doesn't in our little corner of the world. In-Service Opportunities
If you are connected with a Catholic high school in the Pennsylvania, Ohio, Northern Virginia, West Virgina, Maryland, Washington DC, area and you are considering the move to Block Scheduling, I am available to provide a full-day in-service to your teachers. My program involves justifications for block scheduling, as well as activities, lesson plans, and lots of nuts-and-bolts information. When I say a full day, I mean a full, no-holds-barred, lecture, demonstration, hands-on activity kind of day. Your teachers will leave the room either exhilarated and ready to start planning new and exciting lessons, or scared to death and ready to update their resumes.
